Why you need me to represent you…
I am a highly experienced attorney having practiced, before becoming a solo practitioner, throughout the entire Rochester, New York area in both large and smaller law firms. The principal area of my Real Estate Attorney practice has evolved, over the years, generally into Real Property law, but covering a broad array of subjects within that general practice area.
These include, as described more fully below, the negotiation and review of a wide variety of commercial real estate contracts and leases; the closing of sometimes complex real estate transactions; real estate dispute resolution and litigation, including title, boundary, lease and easement disputes; representation of applicants on substantial land use and zoning matters; representation of municipalities on a wide variety of municipal law issues; representation of property owners in condemnation and tax assessment matters; and completion of extensive training sponsored by the New York State Bar Association to serve as a mediator in a variety of civil matters.
MY PRACTICE AREAS
Real Property Transactions
I have negotiated numerous leases and real estate purchase contracts and have closed on very substantial real estate purchases and financings.
Land Use & Zoning
In the area of land use and zoning, I have represented some of the most significant real estate developers in Upstate New York and have obtained approvals for major residential and commercial development projects. This also includes numerous Article 78 proceedings challenging municipal determinations on these applications.
Real Property Litigation
I also have significant experience in real property litigation. My experience includes successful litigation in, as examples, leasing and property contracts, options to purchase and rights of first refusal and adverse possession and boundary line claims throughout Rochester.
Tax Certiorari and Condemnation
I have achieved significant tax assessment reductions on commercial and industrial properties through assessor negotiations, the grievance process and litigation and have negotiated condemnation awards for property owners in excess of the amounts initially offered by the condemning governmental authorities.
I have served for somewhat extended periods as general municipal counsel to two (2) towns in Upstate New York and have consulted with numerous other municipalities on a variety of municipal law issues.
I have participated in numerous mediation proceedings on behalf of clients and have participated in extensive training sponsored by the New York State Bar Association to serve as a mediator in a wide variety of mediation disputes.
